The virus' need to survive is now paramount, and has taken control of the human, as if it was some sort of demon possession. As the rabies progresses he will require sedation. The proper method is to strap the infected to a hospital bed and let the virus run it's course. Ultimately ending in his death

Rabies is not a death sentence. Once bitten or scratched by an animal of unknown origin, or vaccination status, it is best to seek medical attention immediately (within 24 hours). "Do not delay". The treatment for Rabies is known as Postexposure Prophylaxis (PEP). The treatment is applied four times in a two week period. The rabies virus is a bullet shaped virus. It is classified in the taxonomic ranking structure in biology as a virus with a distinct “bullet” shape known as the Rhabdoviridae family.
Many times we have found that science fiction writings, which at that time of the publication seemed outlandish, came to fruition in later years. The airplane, moon landing, and cell phones are three classic examples. Should we look at the science fiction concept of the Zombie Apocalypse with the same disregard? Some stray student wonders into the lab and gets bite by a mouse that has received the injection. Thus, beginning a change reaction of biting and proliferation of a rabies like infection. Most recently, an experiment published in the The Journal of Infectious Diseases.
